NBSC EQUIPS EMPLOYEES AND STUDENTS WITH ESSENTIAL EMERGENCY SKILLS THROUGH CPR TRAINING
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) conducted a Hands-Only Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training on March 25, 2026, at the NBSC Covered Court, with the assistance of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Manolo Fortich through the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (LDRRMO). The activity gathered personnel and selected students for a practical session on emergency response and basic life-saving techniques.
The program opened with a message from John Kevin A. Artuz, MS, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), who emphasized the importance of workplace readiness in handling medical emergencies.
This was followed by the lecture and demonstration conducted by Department of Health Basic Life Support and Standard First Aid (DOH BLS SFA) trainers Evelyn O. Nanale, Philip Dexter C. Daclag, and Clifford John B. Lutrago.
Participants were guided through step-by-step demonstrations and hands-on practice, focusing on correct chest compression techniques and immediate response during cardiac arrest situations. The session ensured that attendees understood both the principles and actual application of CPR.
The activity concluded with closing remarks from Fritchar H. Gevero, MA, Head of the General Services Office (GSO) and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Unit, who reiterated the need for continuous capacity-building among employees.
Through this initiative, NBSC strengthens its commitment to safety and preparedness, fostering a campus environment where individuals are equipped to respond effectively in emergency situations.
